March into Merivale this year was M A S S I V E! This year we had two signature dishes from every Merivale venue ( less than last year) but the signature dishes were better than ever! I took my parents to the Ivy as I do every year and they were hugely impressed by this year’s effort. Merivale never stops to amaze. Freshly renovated Newport joined March into Merivale this year and brought great selection of seafood and crowd’s favourite – Lobster Omelet.
March into Merivale is an annual food and wine event that runs for 5 weeks starting with the launch party at the Ivy showcasing 2-3 signature dishes from every single Merivale venue. The launch party is something everyone has to attend at least once in their life time, it is truly magnificent. The food fest starts from Ash Street and runs through the Ivy buildings, you need to purchase tokens first $40 for 8 tokens, which works out just fine since every dish is mainly 2 tokens. The only downer is the wine and champagne selection, I wish they had more variety than the usual Merivale Red. However, they did have a lovely selection of cocktails usually provided by Palmer Co and also great selection of desserts from Loraine’s Patisserie.
After the launch party it’s 5 weeks of dinning events and packages at different venues. I did not attend any of the foodie events this event due to busy schedule, but definitely looking forward to it next year.
